There are few gestures that are enough for the word of Costanza Canali to dispel the darkness that surrounds it or to swim in it without fear. It seems that research has to do with discovery: the discovery of something that is previous, buried. With the courage to enter ‘an empty / dark / abyss / that cannot be filled’, Canali does not write what he has understood but understands by writing. Thus his poetry is always a living, burning artefact, as essential as the blade of an unknown dagger.

Costanza Canali was born in Parma. Graduated from classical high school, she is the winner of poetry competitions and has published the poetry collections Nebbia (Ibiskos, 2000) and Nuvole spesse (Diabasis, 2015). He carries out voluntary work at the Cittadella Solidale library in Parma and in the museums of the same city for the Auser association.
