A dive into a new life in a Swiss boarding school, Clevermind, in the year in which the world is opening up after the pandemic. A goal that she shares with Inés, her best friend, and Colm O’Keeffe, a green-eyed Irish student who pushes her to believe in herself. It is actually Inés’ father, a famous scientist, who is about to reveal to the world the important finding of a non-polluting and low-cost water engine. But all of a sudden, while outside it is snowing and the landscape surrounding them is truly magical, everything appears to come crumbling down. There is something unexplainable in the History professor’s abrupt departure, and also Inés, who has flown to New York without notice, is now sending her e-mails that make no sense. So Lisa plays Sherlock and solves the enigma of those “disappearances”. The noise coming from the underground pipes at night, what is it? And why do all the clues seem to lead to the Cave of the hands?

Walkabout Literary Agency was established in 2014 and since then has been successfully operating in the fields of book publishing and translation rights sales, Film/Tv  licensing. WLA represents authors worldwide in the fields of literary and commercial fiction, children’s fiction and non-fiction. Every year, around 50 books by our authors are published in Italy and abroad, and every year we sign around 10 agreements for film/television adaptation rights.

We are proud to represent various leading Italian writers of adult fiction and narrative non-fiction as Simonetta Agnello Hornby, Simona Baldelli, Adrian Bravi, Pino Cacucci, Enrico Terrinoni, Piero Trellini,  and foreign writers as the Greek writer Ersi Sotiropoulos candidated to Nobel Prize in 2025, as well as some new and talented voices as Giulia Baldelli, Anna Bonacina, Giacinta Cavagna, Emanuela Fontana, Giuliana Salvi. Among the authors of children’s fiction and non-fiction, Carola Benedetto, Luciana Ciliento, Lia Celi, Federico Gregotti, Daniela Pareschi and Linda Traversi.

Fiammetta Biancatelli is Owner and Managing Director. She has been Spanish translator and co-founder of nottetempo edizioni, in which has worked as an editor in the italian and translated fiction, before creating and starting to manage Walkabout Literary Agency.

Ombretta Borgia is Owner and Rights and Contract Manager, she has been Portuguees translator and she has worked during 12 years as a Foreign Rights Manager for Editori Riuniti, before creating the agency.
