A Cambridge con Newton. Andrea scopre la gravità
Andrea è a Cambridge con la zia che deve tenere alcune lezioni nei college dell’Università. Si siede sotto un albero e una mela le cade in testa: da questo momento iniziano i suoi incontri con Newton, uno dei più grandi geni dell’umanità. Lo scienziato la porterà in giro per Cambridge, nella biblioteca dove è conservato il suo libro più importante e nella cappella dove si trova la sua statua.
Newton avrà l’occasione di raccontare ad Andrea la sua vita e le sue scoperte, spiegandole perché la Luna gira intorno alla Terra, perché si forma l’arcobaleno, come funzionano le maree e perché le mele cadono dagli alberi.
Silvia Merialdo è laureata in fisica nucleare. Dopo la laurea ha avuto diverse esperienze di ricerca scientifica nel Regno Unito e in Germania. La passione per il mondo del libro l’ha poi riportata in Italia e oggi lavora per la Zanichelli come redattrice di testi di fisica per la scuola. Nel tempo libero scrive guide di viaggio e legge centinaia di libri per bambini insieme a suo figlio.

Andrea visits Cambridge with her aunt who’s teaching some classes there. While she’s sitting under a tree, an apple falls on her head: that’s when she meets Newton, one of the greatest scientists in history. The scientist will lead her around Cambridge, through the library where his most important manuscript can be found and inside the Chapel, in front of his own statue.
Silvia Merialdo has a degree in nuclear physics. After her degree, she was part of research groups both in the UK and Germany. But her passion for books led her back to Italy and she currently works for Zanichelli, where she is editor of physics books for schools. In her free time she writes travel guides and reads thousands of children books together with her son.

西尔维娅·梅里亚尔多，毕业于核物理专业，曾在英国和德国从事多项科研工作。因为对书籍的热爱，她最终回到意大利，目前在“扎尼凯利”出版社担任物理教材编辑。业余时间，她喜欢编写旅行指南，还会与儿子一起阅读大量儿童读物。
