Cepell: new call “Traduzioni 2021”

Cepell  (“Centro per il libro e la lettura”) publishes the new call “Traduzioni 2021” aimed at Italian publishers interested in promoting the translation and dissemination of books and reading abroad by Italian authors, also through or in collaboration with Italian schools and the network of Italian Cultural Institutes and their libraries.

The Call for Proposals aims to promote a publishing support programme consisting in the translation of works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and children’s literature, written by Italian authors, in order to enhance our culture at an international level. All types of works are eligible, with the exception of school books, which have already been published in Italian at the time of the publication of the Call for Proposals. Translations will be admitted into all foreign languages, with priority for works in translation into English, French, Spanish and German.

With a budget of 400,000 euros, the Call for Proposals envisages contributions ranging from a minimum of 500 to a maximum of 5,000 euros per work.

Project proposals, accompanied by all the required documentation, must be completed and sent exclusively online, through the new Centre for Books call platform, no later than 13:00 on 31 August 2022.

The call, which refers to the financial year 2021, has been prepared pursuant to Interministerial Decree no. 61 of 17 February 2022 on the “National Action Plan for the promotion of reading referred to in Article 2, paragraph 1, of Law no. 15 of 13 February 2020, for the years 2021-2023”.
