Beppe Roncari, nato a Milano nel 1978, è scrittore, traduttore, editor. Ha lavorato nella produzione di fiction e come traduttore di importanti coproduzioni internazionali di Lux Vide. Si è occupato di comunicazione per la Scuola Holden di Torino e per l’Agenzia Spaziale Europea (ESA). Attualmente lavora per Cambridge University Press come redattore di corsi di lingua inglese e tiene una rubrica fissa dedicata al fantastico su Urania. Vive con la sua compagna di vita e di scrittura ad Avigliana in Val Susa, all’ombra della Sacra di San Michele.

When the volume disappears, they begin a frantic search that leads them to Lecco and intertwines with the lives of two young people: Renzo and Lucia. Betrothed and about to fulfill their dream of love, they become pawns in the chess game between the angel, who tries in every way to help them, and the demon, who uses Don Rodrigo and his thugs to separate them. But there are even greater forces at work: Famine, War, Pestilence, Death… and Providence, a mysterious force, that intertwines destinies, even after death, and is about to bring about the birth of a new era. After the failed marriage, Renzo and Lucia’s paths diverge: he, after escaping arrest in Milan, finds refuge in Bergamo only to be captured by the Inquisition and taken to Venice as a prisoner; she, on the other hand, in the Monza convent, meets Gertrude, a woman of dark charm and full of secrets.

The book, which began in the 1600s with the burning at the stake of Giordano Bruno, ends in 1633 with the trial and abjuration of Galileo Galilei. A time in History when the future of mankind changed forever.

Beppe Roncari (Milan 1978) is a writer, translator and editor. He has worked in fiction production and as a translator for major co-productions of Lux Vide. He has handled communications for the Holden School in Turin and for the European Space Agency (ESA). He currently works for Cambridge University Press and writes a regular column dedicated to fantasy literature in Urania, the most popular science fiction series in Italy (Mondadori).

贝佩·隆卡里，1978年出生于米兰，作家、翻译、编辑。他曾参与影视剧制作，并为意大利Lu× Vide公司出品的多部国际合拍剧担任翻译工作。他还曾为都灵的霍尔登写作学院和欧洲航天局从事宣传与沟通工作。目前，他在剑桥大学出版社担任英语课程编辑，并在《乌拉尼亚》杂志开设了固定专栏，专注于奇幻题材。他与伴侣一起工作和生活在苏萨山谷的阿维利亚纳，靠近圣米歇尔修道院。
