Contemporary Italian female authors that have been translated into English

The new volume of Italian Literature in Translation is finally available. It features a selection of novels by Contemporary Italian female authors who had, previously, never been published in English.

As the editor Loredana Lipperini states in her preface: “The female authors introduced in this short selection […] are all profoundly embedded in the world surrounding them, despite their differences in age, origin and interests. They either retrieve and analyse this world through a historical lens –Historical with a capital H or through local history – or they dissolve it lyrically in visionary narrations that concern love, death, or both, the family as a cradle of horrors or as a suffocating nest, the difficulty in overcoming existential or generational wounds, and the mysterious ways of desire. […] Whichever path they choose, they always do so fearlessly.”

Volume III contains works by:
Giulia Caminito, Eleonora C. Caruso, Teresa Ciabatti, Sara Gamberini, Antonella Lattanzi, Chiara Palazzolo, Carmen Pellegrino, Letizia Pezzali, Domitilla Pirro, Laura Pugno, Evelina Santangelo, Carola Susani.
The novels selected have been edited by Loredana Lipperini.
The graphic design and layout by Silvana Amato.
