Paris Book Market 2023

In June 2023, for the second year, Paris will host the Paris Book Market, organised by the Bureau International de l’Édition Française (BIEF) with the support of Sofia (Société Française des Intérêts des Auteurs) and aimed exclusively at publishing professionals. This event will bring together French foreign rights representatives from all publishing sectors with their international counterparts for two days of B-to-B meetings.

The Paris Book Market aims to promote French publishing production to foreign professionals. Like last year, the Paris Book Market 2023 will allow foreign publishers interested in acquiring rights to French titles to meet with rights sellers from French publishing houses. This event is a unique networking opportunity for publishing professionals in a prestigious setting. Participants will benefit from tailor-made logistical services and the expertise of the BIEF, whose mission is to promote French publishing abroad.

The Paris Book Market will take place on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 June 2023 at the Galerie Joseph in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. About 225 French and 225 foreign publishing houses will participate in the event. Since the opening of the appointment platform on Tuesday 2 May, 1800 appointments between French and foreign publishers have already been made for the two days of the Paris Book Market. Participation in the Paris Book Market is free of charge for foreign publishers, while French publishers pay a participation fee to be able to participate in the Paris Book Market and have a table to hold their meetings with foreign publishers.

18 Italian publishing houses will come to Paris to participate in the event: Lavieri, Marsilio, Carocci, Edizioni E/O, Glifo Edizioni, Rizzoli Italy, Iperborea, Il Leone Verde, Il Saggiatore, Giunti, Nord, Elliot, Il Castello, Lit Edizioni, Milano Consulting & Scouting Italy, Mondadori, Ugo Guanda, Comicout.
