Nelle città di provincia le ragazze perbene si assomigliano tutte. Per sottrarsi a un futuro già raccontato, Clara si trasferisce a Londra, dove insegna italiano a ricchi expat e si trova intrappolata nel vortice degli incontri online. Ma il matrimonio della cugina Rossella, inseparabile compagna d’infanzia diventata modella di abiti da sposa, la richiama a Caserta. Clara si trova così immersa nel mondo da cui è fuggita: all’addio al nubilato della cugina rivede le vecchie compagne di scuola, e nei giorni successivi incontra Luca, lo sposo, con cui aveva stretto in passato un’amicizia clandestina. All’improvviso, però, Rossella scompare senza lasciare traccia, e Clara scopre nel suo diario un segreto che minaccia il futuro radioso che Rossella ha sempre incarnato. In Italian little towns, well-behaved girls all look alike. To escape a future already written for her, Clara moves to London, where she teaches Italian to wealthy expats and finds herself trapped in the vortex of online dating. However, the wedding of her cousin Rossella – an inseparable childhood companion who became a model for wedding dresses – calls her back to Caserta. Clara finds herself once again immersed in the very world she fled: at her cousin’s bachelorette party, she sees her old schoolmates, and in the following days, she meets Luca, the groom, with whom she had shared a secret friendship in the past. Suddenly, though, Rossella vanishes without a trace and Clara discovers a secret in her diary which will threaten the radiant future Rossella has always embodied.
