Ad Ande Lande nulla conta più dei nomi. Tutti ne hanno più di uno. Il re, ne vanta addirittura trentuno. A seconda di quanti nomi si hanno si possono prendere in prestito più libri in biblioteca, si può passare più tempo alle feste e diventare apprendisti degli astri – coloro che nel momento in cui un essere umano viene al mondo danno i nomi. Ad Ande Lande chi è a corto di nomi, è a corto di memoria, pazienza, cervello e tutto il resto. Come se non bastasse, Chel sta anche manifestando poteri da maga della terra, ma quale astro prenderà mai come apprendista una ragazzina con un solo nome? Quando zia Dore Laya e cugina Fe Rufina vengono miniaturizzate e rapite dalla terribile Reina di Tasche, Chel non potrà che scendere in campo così com’è, con il suo unico nome, senz’armi ma con tutta se stessa: e troverà proprio in un astro il più improbabile degli alleati.
Antonia Murgo è una giornalista che si occupa di cinema, serie e film d’animazione. Si definisce lunatica – mai quanto l’Uomo Nero, che di cognome fa Moonro e guida il Clan di Luna – ma su una cosa non cambia mai idea: le storie fantastiche per ragazzi. Le legge, le scrive, le illustra. Questo è il suo primo romanzo, vincitore del Premio Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi per il miglior libro d’esordio 2022.

In Ande Lande the most important thing is the names. Everyone has more than one and the king even has thirty-one. Depending on how many names you have, you can borrow more books from the library, spend more time at parties, attend the best schools, and become an apprentices to the Astros – those who, when a human being comes into the world, give them their names –, but also, be considered reliable, important, judicious, intelligent.
Chel has only one name, and in Ande Lande those who are short of names are short of everything. Chel is also manifesting Earth Sorceress powers, but which Astro would ever take a girl with a single name as an apprentice?
However, when aunt Dore Laya and cousin Fe Rufina are kidnapped by the Queen of Tasche, Chel will have no choice but to throw herself into an adventure with an unlikely ally: an Astro.
Antonia Murgo was born in 1991. Originally from Puglia, she now lives in Turin. She made her debut in 2022 with Miss December and the Moon Clan, winner of the Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi award for Best Debut Novel and translated into seven languages.
