Diario da un monastero. Parole di un ateo in cammino
by Corlazzoli, Alex
«This year I spent two months of my life at the Cellole Monastery. I did it as a person who “believes himself to be an atheist” yet who wanted to experience the life that the monks led every day: the prayer, the silence, the value of brotherhood. Each night I would write a word upon which I would reflect; a word that took inspiration from the very “everydayness” that was never “banality” in the monastery. I then thought about turning my experience (or that of it which I happened to recount) into a book; an intimate and collective diary. Out of all this came the idea: thirty words, one month».
