Nadia Terranova in San Francisco

On the occasion of the Centenary of Andrea Camilleri’s birth, the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco will host a special event to celebrate his cultural and literary legacy. Speakers will include Nadia Terranova, Premio Strega finalist in 2018 with the novel Addio fantasmi and in the latest edition with Quello che so di te; Michael Subialka, professor at the University of California, Davis, expert in Italian literature and modern theatre, and Steven Sartarelli, translator of the Inspector Montalbano series for the English-speaking readers, with a video contribution dedicated to the challenge of rendering the living, hybrid and inventive language of the great Sicilian writer into English.
The meeting will take place on October 14 2025 and will open the program of the XXV Week of the Italian Language in the World in San Francisco.
