L’elmo di Scipio

Cagliari, 1980. A quiet February day is shattered by a shootout between police and members of the Revolutionary Communist Nuclei in front of the train station. Amid shadowy alleys, ancient neighborhoods, and the Poetto beach, Roberto Steri, a young high school student, suddenly finds himself caught in a complex web of terrorism, kidnappings, and state secrets. When his friend Carlo is abducted, Roberto’s life changes forever.
The events intertwine with the investigations of Deputy Police Chief Diego Piras, who is working to uncover unsettling links between local groups and the enigmatic clandestine organization Scipio—a subversive network operating in the shadows, willing to do anything to uphold a twisted notion of national stability.
Thirty years later, in 2010, Roberto returns to Cagliari as an established photojournalist, ready to confront the demons of his past. Through new revelations, he uncovers the truth about those dark years and decides to share it with the world. But breaking the silence of those determined to keep secrets hidden is no easy task.
