Stockholm: Antonio Franchini and Saba Anglana
On Tuesday, 16 February, at 6 p.m., at the Italian Cultural Institute ‘Carlo Maurilio Lerici’ in Stockholm, writers Saba Anglana and Antonio Franchini will talk with two Swedish authors, Balsam Karam and Maria Maunsbach. The event will be moderated by Henrik Sahl Johansson.
Saba Anglana is an actress, singer and writer. She has released four music albums with lyrics in the languages that make up her family tree, between Italy and East Africa. She has acted in several theatre and television productions. After several tours in Italian theatres with Marco Paolini’s shows, she published her first novel, La signora Meraviglia, with Sellerio, which was nominated for the 2025 Strega Prize.
Antonio Franchini was born in Naples in 1958. He made his debut in 1992 with Camerati. Quattro novelle sul diventare grandi. For Marsilio he has published: Quando vi ucciderete, maestro? (1996, 2019), Acqua, sudore, ghiaccio (1998, 2021), L’abusivo (2001, 2020), Cronaca della fine (2003, 2019), Signore delle lacrime (2010, 2020), Memorie di un venditore di libri (2011) and Leggere possedere vendere bruciare (2022). In 2020, NN published his collection of short stories Il vecchio lottatore and in 2024, Il fuoco che ti porti dentro (Campiello Selection Award). He has been working in publishing for many decades.
