Alareiks. L’oro e la porpora
by Pivetti, Alessandro, Calvo, Emiliano
410 A.D. The barbarian Alareiks, valiant king of the Visigoths, stands on the brink of the battle that will change the fate of his people and the known world. With the inept and elderly Roman emperor Priscus Attalus deposed, he prepares for the final battle to conquer the Empire. Wandering through foreign lands, persecuted by the Romans and torn by constant civil wars, the Goths finally reach the gates of Ravenna, the last stronghold for the long-awaited conquest of the now crumbling Western Roman Empire.
But the Romans are not the only enemy Alareiks and his loyal warriors must face: the threats of Saro, the ancient and treacherous rival for the Gothic throne, lurk behind every step of their journey. The Romans, shadows of their glorious past, immersed in a corrupt and decadent present, cunning and calculating, plot behind their backs within the ancient palaces.
Alareiks. Gold and Purple is the grand novel of a changing era in a cruel world, recounting oppression, defections, and betrayals, but also heroic deeds, deep passions, and the determination to govern honestly the peoples who were once enemies.
