Italian bookshops worldwide recommend… : La Tour de Babel’s selection

A reference point for expats and lovers of the Italian language in Paris, La Tour de Babel has been welcoming readers to the central Saint Paul district since 1984.

Almost all of the books on offer are in Italian: the latest releases sit alongside the great classics, and the selection is rounded off with volumes dedicated to poetry, theatre, art catalogues, children’s books and Italian language learning manuals.

Frequented over the years by great voices of Italian literature such as Antonio Tabucchi, Vincenzo Consolo and Erri de Luca, this now legendary place has recently been taken over by a young team that has multiplied events and initiatives. Today, La Tour de Babel has a multifaceted soul: a café, meetings with authors, concerts, theatre performances, screenings, a reading club, an atelier and an art gallery. Its desire is to showcase Italy through all its artistic and cultural facets.
