Mastrocola, Paola
Paola Mastrocola (Turin, 1956), writer and high school teacher, has taught Italian Literature at Uppsala University in Sweden. She has long focused on 14th- and 16th-century literature. Among her books are La gallina volante (Guanda, 2000, winner of the Calvino Prize), Palline di pane (Guanda, 2001, finalist for the Strega Prize), Una barca nel bosco (Guanda, 2004, winner of the Campiello Prize).
