Capire la mafia. Dal feudo alla finanza
by Crisantino AmeliaIn court rulings, what continues to be lacking is the genesis of the causes. We are presented with arguments filled with names, strategies, international dealings, and wars between winning and losing factions, always within recent scenarios and with protagonists as ferocious as one could imagine. However, their power cannot be fully explained without clarifying the circumstances that made it possible. Perhaps there is a fear that tracing back through time might lead too far, losing oneself in areas where evidence becomes vague and conflicts are less defined. Yet, attempting to reconstruct how the mafia system has rooted itself over the long span of history, so adaptable as to blend in and then reemerge with new vitality, is essential for understanding our bewildered present.
