Compagni di viaggio. Storie di schizofrenici e di uno psichiatra-analista
by Malinconico, Angelo
Following in the wake of valuable and profound testimonies such as Binswanger’s Case of Ellen West or Ferenczi’s Clinical Diary, Malinconico approaches the treatment and its process in working with schizophrenic individuals from a multifaceted perspective. He does so through the intellectual rigor of the analyst and the practical intelligence of the clinician, in a work that is both a testimony of his work with patients and a heartfelt reflection on the political-institutional aspects of contemporary psychiatry. A work that conveys to the reader the deep meaning of the healing journey, composed of stories contained within an environment imbued with affectivity, the beating heart of the effort to approach schizophrenia with the hope of genuine understanding and individual transformation.
