Dylan is nineteen and leads an utterly ordinary life. He lives in Switzerland with his family, loves swimming, wakes up early for school, and despairs over math, which just won’t stick in his head. But his world turns upside down when, after moving into his grandmother’s old house, he begins to see strange figures who seem to follow him wherever he goes. On top of that, bizarre incidents start happening with the water pipes in their new home. Lost in a sea of events beyond his understanding, he turns—almost by chance—to a medium, Madame Rose, who delivers a shocking revelation: Dylan is one of four chosen ones who can control the elements—the master of water. Not only that, he can also communicate with spirits from the afterlife, though he must be careful: some of them have dark intentions.
The puzzle in his mind seems to fall into place, but it’s only the beginning. The medium reveals the immense responsibilities behind his powers and entrusts him with a mission: to find the other chosen ones—the masters of earth, air, and fire. Only when the four unite will they be able to harness the powerful energy of an ancient relic, the Chest of Wills, which they must protect from dark, malevolent entities.
As Dylan struggles to balance his newfound powers with his everyday life, the arrival of a mysterious new student, Aidan, changes everything once again—and a growing, dangerous enemy begins to hunt him down…
