Fate i tuoni

by D'Ignazio Michele
Fate i tuoni

The protagonists of this story are three. There is Murad, who flees the war and seeks a new home, taking with him a small symbol of his roots, an ampoule with water from the Ararat. There is Zaira, who is chasing a dream, something important to believe in and commit herself to, and spends her days guarding a nest of Caretta caretta waiting for the eggs to hatch. Both are twelve years old, but are already searching for their place in the world. Finally, there is the small Calabrian village overlooking the Mediterranean, which does not give in to what appears to be an inevitable emptying and wants to be ‘home’ again for someone. With his evocative writing spiced with puns, Michele D’Ignazio weaves a story of waiting, hope and encounters, in a place where the future has an ancient heart…
