Chronicæ festival 2026 for newitalianbooks
From 16 to 19 April 2026, the Teatro Filarmonico in Piove di Sacco will host the 12th edition of Chronicæ, Italy’s first and most important festival dedicated to historical fiction (books, comics, theatre performances, readings and historical re-enactments): a major cultural celebration that enlivens Piove di Sacco (PD) and the entire Saccisica region. The festival, conceived and organised by the Sugarpulp Cultural Association, is directed by Matteo Strukul, winner of the 2017 Bancarella Prize and author of international bestsellers such as – among others – the historical tetralogy I Medici (Newton Compton) and Il cimitero di Venezia (Newton Compton), translated into over 25 languages worldwide.
To mark its 12th edition, the Chronicæ festival offers newitalianbooks readers a focus on some of the most interesting historical novels published recently in Italy.
