Antwerpen: Drawing Dante

The Dante Alighieri Society of Antwerp and Wildgroei, the art workshop of the De Zonnebloemen day centre, part of the De Vijver association network, present Drawing Dante to the public in Antwerp from 8 November to 2 December 2025: an exhibition dedicated to the work of young Italian cartoonists and great international cartoonists on Dante Alighieri’s Commedia.

Drawing Dante is an artistic and literary project that originated in Italy and has been enriched in Belgium with a strong social component.

Drawing Dante is not only an exhibition of illustrations and comics, but also a meeting point for different social and cultural realities committed to promoting inclusion. The Dante Alighieri Committee of Antwerp has involved and obtained the support of Districtshuis Deurne and De Vijver, which, through the Wildgroei art workshop, led by Hilde Daems, Tinne Possemiers, Dieter Homburg, Ilse Grimonpont, Annelies Budts and Els Slaets, have integrated the exhibition with drawings, wood and papier-mâché works created by people with disabilities.

Drawing Dante, created by Comicon Napoli, arrived in Belgium thanks to the support of several Italian companies and Italian and Belgian institutions committed to social issues: Masseria del Carrubo, Markesing and Grimaldi Lines Belgium.
