Promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Athens – in collaboration with the Hellenic Foundation for Books and Culture, the Department of Italian Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and the Giri di parole association, with the patronage of AIE – Associazione Italiana Editori, under the auspices of the Centre for Books and Reading and with the active involvement of Greek publishers Dioptra, Keleuthos, Patakis and Utopia – FILE has a dual purpose: to be a living archive of literary voices and, at the same time, a gesture of friendship and dialogue.

The Programme

FILE includes a series of events taking place from 13 to 15 February 2026 at the Italian Cultural Institute in Athens. The programme is divided into five different formats: FILE://incontri, which gives voice to direct dialogue between Italian and Greek authors who share a common history, sensibility and language; FILE://primegreche, a space dedicated to Italian publications that have just been released in Greece; FILE://ritorni, featuring Italian books, both classic and contemporary, that have already been translated and published in Greece and continue to engage with Greek readers through new interpretations and comparisons; FILE://visioni, the section dedicated to encounters that go beyond the boundaries of fiction to open up dialogue with other forms of knowledge and imagination, such as science, philosophy, cinema and the visual arts; and FILE://officina, which opens up the participatory and workshop dimension of the festival, actively involving the public.
