Booktuberprize 2023
The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), in collaboration with ‘Il Centro per il libro e la lettura’ of the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC), with the Direzione Generale per lo Studente, l’inclusione e l’Orientamento scolastico del Ministero Italiano dell’Istruzione e del Merito (MIM), announces the fifth edition of the National Prize “BookTuberPrize”. The Competition aims to be an opportunity to circulate knowledge of books among young people, developing in them comprehension, synthesis and critical thinking skills and stimulating their digital skills, through the use of the computer medium.
Inspired by the booktubers, “video-bloggers” active in the field of publishing, the competition is aimed at young people aged between 15 and 21, in Italy and abroad, with the intention of stimulating the careful and conscious reading of a book in order to then obtain a review and ensure that the products of Italian publishing – whether paper or digital – can be better known abroad.
The participants, after having chosen and read a book or a poetry collection, will have to describe its content through a video review of max 2 minutes in mp4 format. The video can be made by one, two or three people. You can choose between two thematic categories
– fiction: review of a novel by an Italian writer published from 2000 to the present day;
– poetry: review of a poetry collection published since 2000 to date.
These must only be books in the Italian language, written by Italian authors and published by Italian publishers in the indicated time period.
The language to be used for the review is Italian.
The evaluation of the videos will be carried out by a specially appointed Jury of experts.
The Rules and Regulations are attached here. Participation in the Competition is free of charge and entries must be sent no later than 13:00 on 13 April 2023. To participate it is necessary to fill in the forms attached to the Regulations.
