Part of Lezioni sciasciane nel mondo, an homage to Leonardo Sciascia on the centenary of his birth.

Opening speeches by Benedetto Della Vedova, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Sergio Strozzi, Consul General of Italy in San Francisco. Introduction by Anna Maria Di Giorgio, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco.

Remote speakers Giulia Pellizzato (Harvard University) and Eloisa Morra (University of Toronto). The meeting will be moderated by Valerio Cappozzo (University of Mississippi).

Lezioni sciasciane nel mondo is an initiative promoted by the Sciascia Centenary National Committee, led by Senator Emma Bonino and by the Amici di Leonardo Sciascia Association, in collaboration with the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and the Istituto per l’Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani, and supported by Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation. The event will be streamed via the Facebook pages of the Istituto per l’Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani, the Amici di Leonardo Sciascia Association, the Todomodo journal, and the Olschki publishing house.
