Italian Language Week in the World 2025

Italofonia: language beyond borders
13–19 October 2025
Italian Language Week in the World is held every year in the third week of October. Organised by the diplomatic-consular network and Italian Cultural Institutes, in collaboration with key partners in language promotion (MiC, MIM, MUR, CePeLL, the Swiss Federal Government, the Accademia della Crusca, CGIE, the Italian-speaking Radio and Television Community, the Treccani Italian Encyclopaedia Institute, RAI Italia and the Dante Alighieri Society), the Week has become the most important global event dedicated to the Italian language.
In the year of the First International Conference on Italophony and in continuity with the fifth edition of the States General of the Italian Language in the World, the 25th edition (13–19 October 2025) will have as its theme ‘Italophony: language beyond borders’, with the aim of celebrating the linguistic, cultural and social space of Italian, imagining a new community of people around the world united by a passion for our language and, through it, by their closeness to our country.
