Italian writer Nicoletta Verna has won the European Union Prize for Literature 2025

Italian writer Nicoletta Verna has won the European Union Prize for Literature 2025 with her book I giorni di vetro (Einaudi), awarded yesterday in Prague as part of the Svět knihy International Book Fair, of which the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague (IIC) is also a partner for this year’s edition. The Director of the IIC, Marialuisa Pappalardo, Dr Letizia Kostner, the IIC’s publishing representative, and historian and writer Carlo Vecce, who presented the Czech translation of Il sorriso di Caterina (Caterina’s Smile) at the fair, were present to support the Italian writer.
