Munich: Grazia Deledda

On 27 February 2026, at 6 p.m., the Italian Cultural Institute in Munich will host the 2026 Reading Marathon organised by the VDIG / Vereinigung deutsch-italienischer Kulturgesellschaften (Association of German-Italian Cultural Societies). Italian writer Grazia Deledda (1871-1936), winner of the 1926 Nobel Prize, is the focus of the 12th edition of the Reading Marathon. This special event highlights one of the leading figures in modern Italian women’s literature, whose works pay tribute to the harsh and archaic reality of rural life on her native island of Sardinia.
