Trieste: Congress of IBBY International (30 August-1 September 2024)
The 39th Congress of IBBY International will be held in Trieste from 30 August to 1 September.
IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) is a non-profit organisation founded in Zurich in 1953. YBBY today consists of 84 national sections around the world: it represents countries with well-developed publishing and literacy programmes and others doing pioneering work in publishing and promoting children’s books. The slogan of the 2024 edition – ‘Join the revolution! Giving every child good books’ – is a call for commitment but also an act of courage in a difficult time, when good books can make a difference in fostering international understanding and in helping the youngest children in particular to imagine different, fairer worlds for all.
