Hurricane. Tu sei l’inaspettato
by Mary Mave
Observe, analyze, think, act.
This is Bessie Gray’s mantra, whose boring life is set in between the 100 steps that separate Katy’s, the place where she works as a waitress, and her apartment, where she spends the night safely in bed, reading a good book with a hot infusion, carefully avoiding being overwhelmed by any emotion.
Charming Jacob Butler is Bessie’s opposite: impulsive and determined, he is constantly looking for thrill and adrenaline. Firstborn of one of the most important businessmen of San Francisco, he’s used to always get what he wants, especially from girls. Still, when he suddenly appears on Katy’s front door one night, whit his face full of bruises and knuckle filthy with blood, his good-look and arrogance are no use bewitching Bessie, who knows very well the type of guy and doesn’t want to have anything to do with him. But Jacob, familiar with challenges, is fascinated by the girl’s rough and real beauty and is not intended to let it go so easily.
The chemistry among the two of them is undeniable, the tension’s getting stronger and logical and reflective Bessie can’t do anything but being overwhelmed by this unexpected boy who struck in her life with the power of a hurricane.
