Milan, 1939. Inspector Andrea Baroni, from the Porta Vittoria police station, is busy with a special investigation. Twelve-year-old Matthias Sindelar spent his days kicking an old leather ball around in the street with his friends. Football was his passion, and he was spotted by the coach of Vienna’s Herta ASV team. From there, he took off towards a well-deserved career and the number ten jersey of the Austrian national team. So far, it seems like the story of many sports champions. But that is not the case. Sindelar, who was called the Mozart of football by fans for his intoxicating dribbling, actually became a symbol of the fight against all dictatorships and regimes and, at the same time, a mystery that is still being discussed today.
