“C’erano al mondo due brutti giganti che si credevano molto importanti…”
Inizia così questa simpatica filastrocca che narra di due giganti gemelli robusti e forzuti che menano colpi a destra e a manca. Il loro motto è: usa la forza e avrai ragione!
Tutti scappano al loro arrivo per paura di prendere botte e legnate. Il paese non sa come liberarsi dei due prepotenti, finché una bambina prende una mela la dipinge d’oro e scrive sopra:
“La prenda l’uomo più forte e potente che c’è” e gliela posa davanti.
La storia finirà bene, non senza ricordare a tutti che per sconfiggere i prepotenti è meglio usare il cervello e non la forza.
Tematiche: prepotenti, non violenza, pace, intelligenza, diplomazia.
Anna Lavatelli, oopo aver insegnato per molti anni, ha scelto di dedicarsi a tempo pieno alla scrittura di libri per bambini, spaziando nei generi più diversi, dal romanzo d’avventura al romanzo fantastico, ma avendo sempre presente quei problemi della società contemporanea che influenzano maggiormente la vita dei ragazzi. I suoi libri sono stati tradotti in molte lingue. Moltissimi i premi e i riconoscimenti ricevuti, tra questi il Premio Andersen 2005 come miglior autrice.

So begins this delightful rhyming tale about two twin giants, strong and powerful, who strike blows left and right. Their motto? Use strength, and you’ll always be right!
Everyone flees at their arrival, fearing punches and beatings. The town doesn’t know how to get rid of these bullies—until a little girl paints an apple gold, writes on it “Let the strongest and most powerful man take it,” and places it in front of them.
The story has a happy ending, reminding everyone that the best way to defeat bullies is with intelligence, not force.

After teaching for many years, Anna Lavatelli chose to devote herself entirely to writing children’s books, exploring various genres—from adventure novels to fantasy—while always keeping in mind the social issues that most affect young people’s lives. Her books have been translated into many languages and have received numerous awards, including the prestigious 2005 Andersen Prize for Best Author.
巨人之歌
