Nora is one of many abused and underpaid girls who work for the milliners in Milan at the beginning of the 20th century. During this period of riots, Nora’s father, a devoted liberal, loses his life in the Moti di Milano of 1898. She will follow in his footsteps and organize the first ‘piscinine’ ten-day strike of 1902.
