L’abisso
by Morozzi, Gianluca
Gabriele has been lying to his mother for years, forging university records and inventing dazzling grades. But now time is up: within twenty-four hours he is supposed to graduate in law, while the truth is a chasm of lies and failures from which he sees no escape. “Mamma Gelida,” proud and unsuspecting, has already laid out her best dress to celebrate her son’s great accomplishment. But what will happen when she discovers the truth?
With his unmistakable blend of drama and dark comedy, Gianluca Morozzi builds a novel as tight as a countdown, where every page shifts between despair and sarcasm, the grotesque and the tender. L’abisso is a story about the weight of expectations, the fragile balance between lies and survival, and an irresistible comedy of illusions—capable of making the reader smile and shudder at the same time.
