L’occhio del gufo

by Butini, Andrea
L’occhio del gufo

In the forest of Rokthan, a small, insignificant village like so many others, animals are beginning to disappear. Sorin, a hunter, tries to understand why. But the decline in prey is not his only concern: for a couple of days, his son Jas has been suffering from strange violent fits. Meanwhile, an emaciated old stranger who calls himself the Master appears in the village, leaving a trail of blood and mystery in his wake. To investigate, Captain Swain is forced to seek help from the conciliator Neth Roven, a man devastated by the loss of his wife. As the two set out on the Master’s trail, other disturbing events break the peace of Rokthan: the Peacemakers, soldiers from distant Vanhorn, are about to arrive. And it seems that their intentions are far from good. What is really going on? What is the connection between the missing prey, little Jas’s seizures and the arrival of the Master? And why has a village forgotten by all suddenly become so important?
