Maria Maddalena. Equivoci, storie, rappresentazioni

What has become of the beloved disciple, the authoritative woman, the apostle who believed and followed Jesus? A long process of alteration and re-dimensioning gives us a figure of a sinner and a repentant woman, in whom sensual beauty and mortification of the body merge. Reflecting on the “Magdalene case”, delving into the folds of history and the arts, means removing misunderstandings and manipulations, rediscovering, at the heart of Christianity, the decisive roles that women are still waiting to play despite having had them from the very beginning.
