Moscow: publication of the anthology Nuova poesia italiana dal 1980 a oggi

The Italian Cultural Institute of Moscow has published the anthology Nuova poesia italiana dal 1980 a oggi in a bilingual edition.

This is the most extensive anthology of contemporary Italian poetry in Russian in the last forty years. Andrea Afribo, a specialist in the history of Italian poetry, edited the collection and selected the texts of the best-known and best-loved contemporary Italian poets. The director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Moscow, Daniela Rizzi, coordinated the project.

The book includes poems by the following authors: Milo De Angelis, Valerio Magrelli, Patrizia Valduga, Fabio Pusterla, Umberto Fiori, Silvia Bre, Mario Benedetti, Stefano Dal Bianco, Guido Mazzoni, Stefano Strazzabosco, Massimo Gezzi, Gherardo Bortolotti, Italo Testa, Stefano Carrai.

This anthology is the result of a collective work: all the texts were in fact translated into Russian by the collaborators of the Italian Cultural Institute in Moscow, with the exception of three poets (Antonella Anedda and Vivian Lamarque translated by Evgenij Solonovič, an undisputed master of poetic translation from Italian into Russian, and Franca Mancinelli, translated by Vera Kazarceva).
