This essay is a journey through the mystery of time, a path in the company of St. Augustine. The book begins by hypothesizing how and when men have started perceiving time and its practical application. Then, how philosophers have interpreted time through the theory of relativity. And in the end, how time was and is now experienced by men. But the journey continues. The book then explores what time itself is. During the climb, new perspectives are leading to a sad conclusion: the instant as we imagine it does not exist; it is a constant flow, just like our world. Finally, we climb the last high walls in an attempt to find an alternative. At the top, we find the barrier of time. We try to look beyond, but we see nothing; we come back to reality. We lose our deep-rooted certainties, including the existence of the moment itself. We find ourselves alone. The purpose of our journey was understanding time, but the road we followed has led us elsewhere, to try to understand ourselves better.
