Stockholm: Italian Contemporary Poetry

On 20 February 2023, at 5.30 pm, two anthologies of Italian poetry in Swedish translation will be presented at the Italian Cultural Institute “Carlo Maurilio Lerici” in Stockholm.

These two volumes are part of a new series of “CartadItalia” publications entitled “Comets”, dedicated to Italian women poets active from the beginning of the last century to the present day.

The first anthology, entitled Dieci indomite fiamme, edited by Claudio Pozzani, includes works by women who have profoundly marked the history of twentieth-century Italian poetry: Ada Negri, Sibilla Aleramo, Antonia Pozzi, Elsa Morante, Amalia Rosselli, Cristina Campo, Jolanda Insana, Alda Merini, Maria Luisa Spaziani and  Patrizia Vicinelli.

The second anthology, entitled La pungente grazia, edited by Daniela Marcheschi, includes works by Anna Cascella Luciani, Cristina Annino, Maura Del Serra, Margherita Rimi and Chiara Carminati.

Claudio Pozzani and Daniela Marcheschi, the translators Ida Andersen, John Swedenmark and Julian Birbrajer, and the poets Maura Del Serra, Margherita Rimi and Chiara Carminati will participate in the event.
