Titles in the Spotlight at The London Book Fair 2026

Following the success of the Chinese-language showcase at the latest edition of the China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair, newitalianbooks has launched two new fiction showcases: one for the English-speaking market and the other for the French-speaking market. On an experimental basis, and in anticipation of new, broader initiatives that will directly involve publishers and agents, newitalianbooks has called on experienced scouts and translators working in both language areas to select the titles for these two showcases.

These two showcases will be published on the occasion of the next edition of the London Book Fair (10-12 March 2026) and will include a selection of Italian fiction titles that have not yet been translated into English and/or into French. Each book entry will be accompanied by the cover of the volume, a description of the content, a list of awards received and translations already completed, the contact details of the rights manager and a short extract in Italian or in English translation.

newitalianbooks is a project initiated by Treccani in 2020 with the aim of supporting the international reach of Italian publishing, increasing its visibility in foreign markets and enhancing collaboration with the network of Italian institutions abroad. It has the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Centre for Books and Reading (Ministry of Culture), the Lauro Chiazzese Foundation for Art and Culture and the collaboration of the Italian Publishers Association.
