Valdombra. Sulle ali della tempesta
Tutti invidiano la stirpe dei Tormentosa di Gocciadoro, l’altopiano più soleggiato di Valdombra. Tutti, tranne la giovane Domitilla Tormentosa, che vive sulla brughiera con la madre Minerva, esperta falconiera da cui ha imparato a prendersi cura dei rapaci. Ma una notte una tempesta senza precedenti si abbatte su Gocciadoro, Minerva rimane gravemente ferita e Tilla scopre una gigantesca piuma davanti a casa. In cerca di risposte, Tilla si rivolge all’inventrice Guen Derocca e all’entomologo Teo Lucerna: entrambi sospettano che la creatura a cui appartiene la piuma abbia un ruolo nella recente tempesta. Teo incarica allora il suo apprendista, Nicodemo del Sorbo, di assistere Tilla nella ricerca della verità. Peccato che Nico sia un amico (o nemico) di vecchia data di Tilla… E l’incontro con un misterioso principe dei corvi, nel cuore della foresta di Villascura, non fa che complicare le cose. Mentre tempeste sempre più forti si scagliano sulla valle, Tilla dovrà scegliere dove riporre la sua fiducia, e dovrà farlo in fretta, per scongiurare la minaccia che incombe dal cielo.
Martina Folena è un’educatrice teatrale specializzata in narrazione per l’infanzia. Con il progetto “La Cantastorie” fa rivivere la tradizione orale, raccontando fiabe popolari all’interno di festival ed eventi in tutta Italia. Il suo romanzo Valdombra (MIMebù) si è classificato terzo al Premio Letterario Battello a Vapore 2019.
Greta Mainardi si è diplomata al Liceo Artistico Statale di Venezia e poi specializza in Cinema d’Animazione a Firenze, dove frequenta la Nemo Academy of Digital Arts. È vincitrice delle borse di studio Nemo Talents e Artbook. Lavora come illustratrice e animatrice 2D per studi italiani ed esteri.

Everyone envies the Tormentosa family of Gocciadoro, the sunniest plateau in the Valley of Shadows. Everyone except young Domitilla Tormentosa, who lives on the moor with her mother, Minerva, a skilled falconer who has taught her how to care for birds of prey. But one night, an unprecedented storm sweeps across Gocciadoro, leaving Minerva gravely injured. The following morning, Tilla discovers a gigantic feather outside their home.
Determined to find answers, she turns to the inventor Guen Derocca and the entomologist Teo Lucerna, both of whom suspect that the mysterious creature to which the feather belongs is somehow connected to the devastating storm. Teo assigns his apprentice, Nicodemo del Sorbo, to help Tilla uncover the truth — but Nico happens to be an old friend… or perhaps an old rival. As if that were not enough, an encounter with a mysterious Prince of Crows deep within the forest of Villascura only deepens the mystery. While ever more violent storms descend upon the valley, Tilla must decide whom she can trust — and she must choose quickly if she is to stop the threat looming in the skies above.
Martina Folena is a theatre educator specialising in storytelling for children. Through her project La Cantastorie (« The Storyteller »), she brings the oral storytelling tradition back to life, performing traditional folktales at festivals and events throughout Italy. Her novel Valdombra (MIMebù) was awarded third place in the 2019 Premio Letterario Battello a Vapore.
Greta Mainardi graduated from the State Art High School in Venice before specialising in Animation at the Nemo Academy of Digital Arts in Florence. She is the recipient of the Nemo Talents and Artbook scholarships. She works as an illustrator and 2D animator for both Italian and international studios.
Martina Folena es una educadora teatral especializada en la narración de cuentos para niños. Con el proyecto « La Cantastorie », revive la tradición oral, narrando cuentos populares en festivales y eventos por toda Italia. Su novela Valdombra (MIMebù) obtuvo el tercer lugar en el Premio Literario Battello a Vapore 2019.
Greta Mainardi se graduó en la Escuela Superior Estatal de Arte de Venecia y luego se especializó en Cine de Animación en Florencia, donde asistió a la Academia Nemo de Artes Digitales. Es la ganadora de las becas Nemo Talents y Artbook. Trabaja como ilustradora y animadora 2D para estudios italianos y extranjeros.

MIMebù es una editorial dirigida a niños y jóvenes adultos fundada en 2019. Desde su fundación, ha optado por priorizar el cuidado y la calidad publicando un número limitado de títulos cada año: hoy en día, el catálogo incluye más de 100 libros dirigidos a lectores de entre 3 y 16 años y se enriquece con aproximadamente 20 nuevos títulos cada año, con un fuerte enfoque en autores e ilustradores italianos, a quienes también exporta al extranjero. Los libros de MIMebù no pretenden educar a niños y jóvenes ni transmitirles valores o enseñanzas preestablecidas. El objetivo es intrigar, entretener y hacer reflexionar al lector a través de múltiples niveles de lectura dentro de una misma historia. Los libros de MIMebù no tienen barreras ni prejuicios.
