The Campania Libri Festival 2026 for newitalianbooks

It is in the spirit of Jesce sole that the fifth edition of the Campania Libri Festival – the book fair will open: a tribute to Maestro Roberto De Simone and to Gatta Cenerentola, a seminal work in his ethnomusicological research into folk tradition.

Jesce sole, the theme of the 2026 edition, is a nursery rhyme, an ancient propitiatory song, and one of the oldest records of the Neapolitan language. It will be the guiding thread illuminating the programme that, once again this year, will transform the Royal Palace of Naples into the Festival’s ‘home’, alongside the Vittorio Emanuele III National Library and the Romantic Garden.

For four days, the Campania Libri Festival will become an open and dynamic space dedicated to books and reading, featuring talks, literary panels, performances and workshops, bringing together over 100 publishing houses and numerous exhibition stands.

Returning for the 2026 edition are the Kids and Young Adult programmes, aimed respectively at children and young people, as well as thematic programmes with a multidisciplinary perspective: poetry, cinema, history, literary criticism, noir, philosophy, translation, geopolitics and theatre. The programme also includes a series dedicated to Eretiche (Heretical Women), alongside Spirituality.

Campania Libri Festival – the book fair is a project promoted and organised by the Campania dei Festival Foundation, chaired by Alessandro Barbano and directed by Ruggero Cappuccio, and funded by the Campania Region.
