Communication problems. Bad blood runs between the professor and his former student. The source of their problems is what brought them together in the first place: jazz. In the shadow of the genre’s holy trinity, Coltrane, Davis and Parker, all certainities are lost but one, which is the sacred silence between a note and the next one. They will have to hold on to that silence as to understand that silence is as necessary for life as it is for the sake of music.
