La trappola del tempo

by Corciolani, Valeria
La trappola del tempo

Emma no longer exists. She now goes by the name Undi, and she hasn’t stepped outside her house in months. From the window of her room, she watches life unfold in her apartment building—until one day, she witnesses a disturbing scene reminiscent of Hitchcock’s Rear Window: the elderly Professor Balbi, her neighbor, is having a heated argument with someone. Undi becomes convinced that something terrible has happened to him. For days, the man—usually so set in his routines—hasn’t watered his plants, hasn’t gone out to buy the newspaper, and, most worryingly, hasn’t opened the door for Polifemo, his loyal cat, who keeps meowing on the balcony.
Undi decides to investigate, together with her inseparable friends. Every clue seems to lead to a new mystery, and when one member of the group disappears, the kids realize that the past isn’t something you can simply file away: it’s a trap that can still kill.
