A sudden gust of wind blows open the windows of the library where Luca, known as Bookmark, loves to spend his days reading. A mysterious volume falls from the “Forbidden Books” shelf and Bookmark immediately slips it into his backpack. He and his friends Score, Frida and Kilometre discover that they have in their hands The Book of Spirits, with which the famous Professor Rolando De Profundis evokes famous people’s ghosts. They decide to contact the great composer Ludwig Van Beethoven’s spirit to ask him to finish his unfinished Tenth Symphony. Sneaking into Macumba, an abandoned ballroom, they stand in a circle and recite the formula: “Beethoven, if you are there, clap your hands!”. Will they really manage to summon him? And what secrets lie hidden within those dusty walls?

Mansone, Valentina
Valentina Mansone lives in a small village among Monferrato’s vineyards. She is a journalist and has worked for print media, television and radio, covering news and books. She organises journalism workshops for aspiring reporters in collaboration with bookshops and schools. In 2024, her first children’s book, Strega Carota, was published by Il Castoro.
