Il paradigma della giustizia riparativa. Un cammino per le comunità cristiane

by Neglia, Cinzia
Il paradigma della giustizia riparativa. Un cammino per le comunità cristiane

Restorative justice proposes a radical shift in perspective: whilst ‘traditional’ justice aims to restore the order violated by the law, restorative justice focuses on what remains unresolved after the formal conclusion of the trial, when suffering continues to affect people and relationships. The rift caused by the offence is no longer seen merely as an individual matter to be punished or compensated for, but as a wound that affects the entire community. The pain caused thus becomes the focus of a shared reflection on healing, involving those who have suffered the injustice, those who perpetrated it, and the social context in which it occurred. With this collaborative volume, Caritas Italiana offers a valuable tool for understanding and engagement: from theological exploration to an up-to-date analysis of the regulatory framework, right through to the concrete practices of restorative cities. A book aimed at individuals, local areas and communities wishing to explore how it is possible, today, to ‘live restoratively’, making restorative justice a way of life.
