One spring afternoon, we witness a mysterious encounter between two men. The first, Memmo, is an elderly man who has had a rich life and played a central role in the history of his city. From his memories, we reconstruct his youth, his loves, his mistakes, his regrets, in particular his nostalgia for a betrayal and the loss of a great friendship. We know little or nothing about the other, known as Il Biondo, except that, despite his mature age, he has never really reached maturity. But who is he really, and why is he so interested in the story of someone with whom he seems to have no connection? And is everything Memmo says true? One person’s truth is never the same as another’s and often becomes so complicated that it can no longer be one-dimensional, leaving us with the only certainty that we can never really know it.
