F-47D “Thundertbolt”
by Malizia Nicola
The sixth title in the Aviolibri records series, with a bilingual text: Italian and English.
This fighter, despite its splendour during World War II, once received by Italy, turned out to be a wartime “surplus” and was fortunately only taken by two A.M.I. units. The author describes the history of the fighter, from its assignment to A.M.I. units to the sad accidents, from the author’s personal experience with the aircraft to the assigned versions, from the jet era with the revitalisation of the Thunderbolt units to the various models of the P-47 created. The volume is enriched with numerous colour photographs (17), black and white (108) profiles and drawings.
