Facciamo finta che
by Petit, CristinaA child drags us into the game of illusion, of pretending, as only children know how to do. And on this journey where reality and fiction intertwine, we meet his playmates and discover the tragic adventure of some fathers who cross the sea convinced they will find a better life. Homer Winslow’s watercolours fill the eyes with sun and saltiness, facilitating immersion in this truly touching picture book. A thought-provoking story that teaches us not to take anything for granted because things that seem far away or impossible may turn out to be closer to us than expected. With this story, and the lightness that distinguishes her, Cristina Petit succeeds in tackling very important themes, reminding us that our lives are just as precious as those of all human beings.
