Felice chi è diverso

by Savio, Francesco
Felice chi è diverso

This is the story of a bookseller who gets up at 4:55 a.m. to go to work and reads the reality around him as if it were the pages of a book. This makes him different from most people: happy to be an outsider, yet at times concerned about the effort this difference demands. As he walks, he observes the trees and reflects on the best way to survive—both economically and poetically—unable to accept social injustices and inequalities that are increasingly considered normal and inevitable. His desire is to remain faithful to his “vision,” even when everything seems orchestrated to blind us.

These visions first emerged when he was a boy, and the hardships of everyday life seem to make them less frequent. Whether on a train, in a café, or in the bookstore where he works, whether wandering alone or with others, his chain of thoughts takes us on a journey for anyone still sensitive to beauty. Felice chi è diverso is a novel about a life suspended between innocence and fervor, a book that abolishes haste to remind us that the challenge is not merely living, but living authentically.
